Day 23: New Ride Record

I can't believe it, but I finished the 77-mile bike ride today!

I am beyond exhausted, so I'll keep this post to the main points of today:

• We went out for breakfast locally for the first time today! It hurt my stomach all day, but it was still a fun experience.

• The first 30 miles of the ride had brutal, brutal hills, but we persevered.

• I have never been so excited to see the lunch truck! I had a strange-but-yummy tortilla with peanut butter, Nutella, apple, and raisins.

• The following 34 miles after lunch, I was very very sore. My whole body hurt, but after about 12 miles of riding, I settled back in and was able to make the final pushes to get through.

• There were a lot of honks and poor driving decisions from cars towards the end of the day–– never text and drive! Everyone made it to the host safe, though.

• We crossed another state line! Woohoo!

• I had a really meaningful talk with one of my leaders, Corbett.

• Corbett, Eliza, Kelsey and I went to a local pool and splashed around!

• Our hosts made us a very delicious dinner.

• Some teammates went out to bar hop, but since I'm 20 (and exhausted) I decided to stay back and rest!

Tomorrow is a much-needed build day. I hope we're able to go back to the pool!
